LRRWMO Meeting Minutes
February 18, 1993
Page 4
for secretarial services and the balance for copies, along
with the $15.00 monthly finance charge.
Motion was made by Jankowski, seconded by Ottensman, to
AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF THIS $2'04.70 JANUARY BILL FROM THE CITY
OF ANORA.
4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried.
Knutson also presented a bill from Barr Engineering for
professional services provided from November 29, 1992,
through January 2, 1993, for a total of $305.00. $267.00 of
that was directly chargeable to the Johansson permitted
project; the balance for reading correspondence and minutes
of the organization.
Motion was made by Jankowski, seconded by Schultz, to
AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF THIS $305.00 BARB ENGINEERING BILL.
4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried.
PENDING PROJECTS/PERMIT REVIEWS
Chair Schrantz moved this agenda item forward to accommodate
those present.
Addendum
Gary Ostrum, United Power Association (UPA), addressed the.
board about the need to shore up an eroding embankment along
the .Rum River in the City of Ramsey, west of County Road 9
and south of County Road 22, right where the Rum River and
Cedar Creek intersect, in order to protect a UPA transmission
line crossing the Rum River.
Mr. Ostrum indicated he talked to Tom Hovey with the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources about the possibil-
ity of putting rip rap on the bank to impede the erosion
problem. Hovey reportedly did not have a problem with that,
but suggested UPA contact the LRRWMO prior to taking action.
Mr. Ostrum stated Mr. Hovey indicated no plan would be
required. Mr. Hovey reportedly understood UPA would just
reinforce the bank with rock to reduce the wash-out.
Jankowski felt UPA would need an Army Corps of Engineers
permit in order to install the rip rap. He recommended Mr.
Ostrum contact Tim Fell with the Corps in his St. Paul
office. Mr. Fell's telephone number was provided.
