No direct compensation will be <br />made for incorporation of any such additives. <br />The composite of aggregates for a BA-2 or BA-3 type <br />aggregate shall meet the respective requirements of Specification <br />3139 relative to crushing, Los Angeles Rattler loss, and spall <br />materials. <br />2331.3 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br />Construction requirements shall be the same as those <br />specified in 2331.3 except as modified or supplemented by the <br />following: <br />B. Restrictions <br />Restrictions shall be the same as those specified <br />in 2331.3B except as modified by the following: <br />Bituminous wearing or interim wearing course mixtures <br />which are less than one inch in compacted thickness shall <br />be placed uring a period of rising temperature after the <br />air temperature, in the shade and away from artificial <br />heat, has reached 50° F. and indications are for a <br />continuing rise in temperature. During a period of <br />falling temperature, the placement of bituminous wear or <br />interim wearing course mixture (less than one inch) shall <br />be suspended when the air temperature, in the sha a away <br />from artificial heat, reaches 50° F. <br />Bituminous wearing or interim wearing course mixtures <br />which are one inch or greater in compacted thickness <br />be~lac~ed when the air temperature is 50° F. or less <br />provi~d-that the mixture laydown temperature (as measured <br />behind the paver or spreading machine) is at least 260° F. <br />After September 1st a minimum of one (1) pneumatic tired <br />roller shall be used for intermediate rolling, unless <br />otherwise directed by the Engineer. <br />In all cases the rolling operation shall commence as soon <br />as possible after mixture placement. <br />-2- <br />
