The Regional System Reliever Airports Study has shown that the
system of seven existing reliever airports cannot adequately meet future
demand levels and the useful life of facilities at Minneapolis-St. Paul
International will be directly jeopazdized by the failure to provide an
adequate reliever system. Because of the planning timeframe, the major
recommendations of this study must be investigated and pursued to ensttre
the reliever system's long-term viability. Continuous planning efforts will
integrate and tailor as necessary the recommendations of this study into the
ever-changing aviation environment.
-29-
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
