The demand/capacity analysis shows the existing reliever system will <br />not be able to efficiently meet future needs without enhancement. Anatysis <br />has shown that deficiencies in airport-spec as well as systemwide <br />annual operating capacity will be experienced unless additional operational <br />capacity is added to the reliever system. The adequacy analysis for the <br />existing system also shows that the existing reliever system could be more <br />effective if: <br />Geographic coverage was increased in the western portion of <br />the metropolitan area <br />The number of relievers with precision instrument approach <br />capabilities was supplemented <br />The number of intermediate airports (runway length greater than <br />5,000 feet) was increased <br />~ ~~~ <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL -7 <br />
