AI ACCESSTO NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION GE 2 OADVISORY CIRCULAR -4B, UTILITY AIRPORTS - <br />1. PURPOSE. This change transmits revised pages to the subject advisory <br />circular. <br />2. EXPLANATION OF CHANGES. Asterisks are used to denote changes in the text. <br />a. Revised Figure 2-1, Examples of Airplane Models Accommodated by <br />Airport Type, to include later model aircraft. <br />b. Clarified the airport designer's option of using Airplane Flight <br />Manuals in lieu of the runway length curves depicted in Figures <br />4-1 and 4-2. This option allows the airport designer flexibility <br />in establishing the runway length best suited to accommodate the <br />particular operation identified with the facility. <br />c. Included a new Figure 4-2, Runway Length to Accommodate Airplanes <br />Having a Seating Configuration of 10 Passenger Seats or More. <br />This figure lists the representative airplanes having the 10 or <br />more passenger seat configuration and the runway lengths required <br />to operate these airplanes in accordance with FAR Part 135. <br />d. Made minor revision to Figure 8-2 and renumbered as Figure 8-4. <br />e. Added new Figure 8-2, Turnaround -Angular, to provide a 45°-angle <br />exit taxiway. The inclusion of the 45°-angle exit taxiway will <br />allow aircraft to taxi off the runway at a faster speed with <br />greater ease and safety. <br />f. Revised Figure 8-3, Turnaround -Circular, to show proposed future <br />construction and a holding apron. <br />Revised Figure 8-4 to place the holding apron parallel to the <br />taxiway, and renumbered as Figure 8-5. <br />h. Added new Appendix 6, Runway Clear Zone Dimensions. <br />i. Minor editorial changes were made to the revised pages, and <br />measurements converted to the metric units (International System <br />of Units (SI)). <br />g. <br />Initiated by: AAP-560 <br />
