RUNWAY CAPACITY. The capacity of a runway is the number of aircraft <br />operations (an operation is defined as either a landing or takeoff) <br />that the runway can accommodate in a limited period of time. For <br />utility airports, the capacity for the peak hour of the week under <br />visual flight rules (VFR) and instrument flight rules (IFR) can be <br />determined by using Advisory Circular 150/5060-1, Airport Capacity <br />Criteria Used in Preparing the National Airport Plan.
