8 JAN 1972
Mr. Donald M. Greenberg
Secretary
Anoka Asro, Inc.
14000 Sunfish Lake Boulevard
Anoka, Minnesota 55303
c:
Dear Mt. Greenberg:
This letter will acknowledge receipt of your "Notice of Landing Area",
FAA Form 7480-1, proposing the establishment of a public airport at
Anoka, Minnesota, to be known as Anoka Industrial Airport, located
at latitude 45°13'50", Longitude 93°26'40".
A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) analysis has been made to review
the various aspects of the proposal that affect the safe and efficient
use of airspace and whether the safety requirements for public airport
operations can be adhered to at the proposed airport. Based upon
the aeronautical study, we have no objection to the proposal from the
standpoint of the safe and efficient use of airspace by aircraft
operating from other airports on file with the FAA.
This FAA determination should not be construed to mean FAA approval of
the physical development involved in the proposal. It is only a
determination with respect to the safe and efficient use of airspace
by aircraft. In making this determination, the FAA has considered
matters such as the effect the proposal would have on existing or
contemplated traffic patterns of neighboring airports, the effects it
would have on the existing airspace structure and projected programs of
the FAA, and the effects that existing or proposed manmade objects and
natural objects within the affected area would have on the airport
proposal. This determination in no way preempts or waives any ordinance,
laws or regulations of any other governmental body or agency.
This FAA determination does not indicate that the proposed airport
development is environmentally acceptable in accordance with Public
Laws 91-190, 91-258 and or 90-495. An environmental finding is a
prerequisite to any major airport development project irrespective
of whether federal aid will be granted for the project.
The FM cannot prevent the construction of a structure near an airport
and the airport environs can only be protected through such means as
local zoning ordinances or acquisition of property rights.
We are enclosing a graphie depiction of that portion of Part 77 of the
Federal Aviation Regulations, which outlines the necessity for maintaining
proper vertical clearances between approach -departure surfaces to a
