AIRPORT NOISE ZONE MAPS
The attached generalized maps depict the overall noise zones for the region's
public airports. The noise zones reflect both federal and state noise
standards, incorporating aspects of both annualized and peak operating
conditions for policy reasons. These policy noise contour maps are part of the
Aviation Chapter of the Metropolitan Development Guide and are periodically
reassessed based upon updates of individual airport long-term comprehensive
plans, regional aviation system plans, or special studies. When noise zone
maps are revised, affected communities are notified as part of the Council's
annual Guide Amendment Systems Statement notification process. For local
community comprehensive planning purposes, the Metropolitan Council provides
the specific airport(s) noise zone information on half -section maps.
4II
