You have indicated that prior to the Department of Transportation issuing the Commissioner's letter of approval for airport safety zoning, that an Application for Certificate of Approval of the Airport Site must first be on file with the Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division. Enclosed please find a copy of an Application for Original Site Approval and Airport License which is dated November 9, 1971. The City Council of Ramsey, Minnesota has reaffirmed this Application for Original Site Approval and is submitting on your current form, an application for site approval. Since the initial application for site approval of Gateway North Industrial Airport was submitted and approved some 15 years ago, and the fact that the Gateway North Industrial Airport is recognized in the Minnesota State Aeronautics Plan, the National Plan of Integrated Systems (FAA), and the Metropolitan Council Regional Aeronautic's Plan, and that the Division of Aeronautics has received and assisted in the preparation of the Gateway North Industrial Airport Master Plan for the City of Ramsey dated October 1985 (which identifies in great detail the location and characteristics of land surrounding the Gateway North Industrial Airport), the City of Ramsey requests that you consider the enclosed Application for Certificate of Approval as an administrative documentation of an earlier approval.
