Because of the recent crash of the helicopter and the two
deaths resulting, we are asking the city to reconsider its proposal
to expand and improve the airport.
If this aircraft would have crashed 5 seconds earlier the Lehn,
Chancellor, Hassler, Jenson, Bayerl and Sentyrz residences would have
been destroyed,
It was unfortunate that this accident happened but it does point
out the facts, that the risk concerns stated previously by Ramsey
citizens were not unfounded. Again, the homes and businesses north
and south of the airport need not, and must not, be placed in jeopardy
just for the sake of development.
Taxes are extremely high and the removal of land and homes from
the tax roles through the purchase of property for the airport expan-
sion is not a sound decision by the city. This removal will only
raise taxes which are now considered a strain both by businesses and
homeowners. Not only the safety of our people but the economic impact
must be fully considered.
We ask you again to contemplate our concerns and vote no for
airport improvement or expansion.
Let the deathsof these two men not be in van but help us to
come to a better understanding that many must not suffer just for the
economic benefit of a few.
Yours in Deep Concern,
City of Ramsey Citizens and Property Owners
t'7// /3 7 rk/4-u1', A/ t,
/ 7 %// /37 T /e-te A/zeieett
jjegujc3,TaAL.---) ,
4 74,E /32rti,Gv,.sei
/37 e a/i/ ,2
Cova)
