Inquired if the danger of air crashes <br />would increase with so many students using the facility. Inquired if the <br />cost of homeowner's insurance would increase because of the airport. <br />Mr. Otto- Replied that smaller, unimproved airport facilities tend to have <br />a greater amount of training operations than itinerant operations. With <br />airport improvements, the trend is tavards more itinerant operations and a <br />decrease in training operations. There is a risk factor at the facility <br />now and the improvements and zoning would add an additional margin of <br />safety to what already exists at Gateway. <br />Greg Patten - Stated that a neighbor of his used to live by Crystal Airport <br />and sold his home for $5,000 less; there is an impact to property <br />valuation. <br />Mr. Bartley <br />they do not <br />Joe Sentyrz <br />future. <br />- Stated that one of the problems with Crystal Airport is that <br />have airport safey zoning in place. <br />- Inquired if there will be control towers at Gateway in the <br />Mr. Bartley - Replied that typically, control towers are not found on <br />the type of airport facility Gateway will be and that he doesn't know of <br />any airport the size of Gateway that has a control tower. Control towers <br />are for controlling ground traffic. <br />Mr. Otto - Noted that there would have to be at least 200,000 annual <br />operations at an airport before it would even be considered to qualify for <br />a control toiler.
