CASE # 1 <br />ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO RATIFY THE APPOINTMENT OF <br />AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development <br />Background: <br />Per HRA by-laws, the board is required to appoint an Executive Director. The official action of <br />the board should be to ratify the designation of an Executive Director by the City Administrator. <br />In the past, the Executive Director position has been held by the City Administrator. <br />The duties of the Executive Director include supervising the administration of the Authority's <br />business, serve as an assistant to the Secretary/Treasurer (duties delegated to other City Staff), <br />and keep record of proceedings and maintain financial records of the Authority. <br />With the HRA being the administrative body for land transactions in the acquired Ramsey Town <br />Center development, the City Administrator is recommending that the Deputy City <br />Administrator/Community Development Director be designated the HRA Executive Director. <br />The Deputy City Administrator/Community Development Director will then delegate <br />administrative duties to the appropriate staff. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends adopting Resolution #HRA-10-05-005 to appoint the Deputy City <br />Administrator/Community Development Director as Executive Director. <br />BOARD ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #HRA- 1 0-05-005 to appoint the Deputy City <br />Administrator/Community Development Director as Executive Director. <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator: <br />HRA: 05/18/10 <br />Attachments: <br />Attachment A: Proposed Resolution HRA-10-05-005 <br />
