DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION <br />FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT <br />FOR <br />GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL AIRPORT <br />RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br />This Federal Finding has been prepared for proposed development <br />at the Gateway North Industrial Airport, Ramsey, Minnesota. The <br />proposal which was evaluated in the attached Environmental <br />Assessment (EA)is as follows: <br />Acquisition of approximately 230 acres of land including two <br />commercial establishments and 19 residences to provide <br />public ownership of the airport facility and associated <br />approach zones; paving and' reconfiguration of Runway 16/34 <br />to provide a 75' x 3300' hard surface runway; construct <br />parallel and connecting taxiway system; runway lighting and <br />approach aid improvements; obstruction removal; building <br />area improvements (aprons, hangars, auto parking and airport <br />related activities). <br />Since it is not known at this time if the relocation of County <br />Road 116 will affect Anoka County Wetland No. 118, as identified <br />in the EA, the airport sponsor has the responsibility to provide <br />mitigation measures if there is wetland loss resulting from this <br />project. <br />After careful and thorough consideration of the facts contained <br />herein, the undersigned finds that the proposed Federal action is <br />consistent with existing national environmental policies and <br />objectives as set forth in Section 101(a) of the National <br />Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and that it will not <br />otherwise include any condition requiring consultation pursuant <br />to Section 102(2)(C) of NEPA. <br />No mitigating measures are planned since there are no <br />significant environmental impacts identified. <br />Having met all relevant requirements for environmental <br />consideration and consultation, the proposed action is <br />authorized to be taken at such time as other requirements have <br />been met. <br />
