' 8.0 ENVIRONMENTAL OVERVIEW
8.1 Issues
This section discusses those environmental impacts
' associated with the proposed future development and opera-
tion of the airport. The purpose of this phase of the
Master Plan is to provide an overview of the probable
' impacts and should not be considered the equivalent of a
full environmental impact statement or assessment report.
Specific projects dealing with land acquisition or any new
major construction will require an additional and more
' complete environmental impact assessment report.
The issues presented herein are those that have been
' observed and /or presented during the public meetings held
during the development of the airport master plan.
The issues to be discussed for impacts and mitigation are
listed below:
Noise
Land Use
Socio- Economic
Air Quality
Water Quality
Historic, Architectural, Archeological and Cultural Resources
Flora and Fauna
Endangered and Threatened Species
Wetlands
Flood Plains
Prime and Unique Farmland
Energy Supply and Natural Resources
Solid Waste
Construction
Of the above issues perceived noise and safety, land use and
socio- economic appear to be the major issues.
' 8.2 Impacts
8.2.1 Noise
' For the class of airport proposed, of the aircraft
size and number of operation, the noise level
' should not exceed federal or state standards. The
proposed airport is limited to 12,500 pound air-
craft and 3,300 linear feet runway. The single
engine airplane will be the majority of airplane
' on the site with the rest of the craft being twin
engines.
8 -1
1
