While the proposed airport develogclent
does not relate to a facility wined and operated by the Metropolitan
~ Airports Ccumission, we aze interested in and concerned regarding all
~ airport develo~nt taking place within the azea of statutory respon-
sibility of the Metropolitan Airports Cot~ission. The Metropolitan
~ Airports Caemission has reviewed the proposed develoFnlent at Gateway
North Industrial Pazk Airport, and is of the opinion that it would not
' conflict with any existing MAC facilities. Gateway North Airport is
sufficiently re¢oved from the Anoka County-Blaine Airport that there
should be no ov+slap betwe^~ operating patterns at the two facilities.
! Similarly, Crystal Airport is sufficiently located to the southeast of
Gateway North that there should be no interaction between these two
facilities. Since the Metropolitan Council is currently up-dating the
Aviation Chapter of the Metropolitan Developirent Guide, it would be
anticipated that interaction between any proposed facilities developed
- as a result of this doc~mlent and Gateway North would be reviewed during
System Plan Develogrent.
Gateway North Industrial Park Airport can play a significant role in the
metropolitan airport system, and we view develognent of the Airport
- Master Plan as a significant first-step toward allowing the facility to
fulfill its potential role. We would appreciate receiving additional
information regazding this develognent proposal as it becomes available.
Sincerely yours,
Nigel D.
