•
Dear Ramsey Resident:
A possible solution to the truck traffic problem along 153rd Avenue has been
reached. Both the Burlington Railroad and the Minnesota Department of Transportation
have already tenatively approved this solution. The Ramsey City Council will consider
this matter at a special public hearing on Wednesday, August 19th at the Ramsey City
Hall. YOUR ATTENDANCE AT THIS MEETING CANNOT BE T00 STRONGLY URGED. -1-.50
The possible solution is as follows:
1. A permanent public railroad crossing would be established at the old "Dayton
Crossing"location. This would be in the area adjoining North Fork"s red
brick sles office along Highway 10.
2. A temporary crossing onto Highway 10 would be established Just north of the
Minnesota Department of Transportation's Weigh: Station also in the area
adjoining North Fork's red brick sales office.
3. A permanent crossing onto Highway 10 would be established somewhat further
north in the vicincity of Wuorio's Truck Service.
4. Truck traffic would be diverted off of 153rd Avenue and directed through the
permanent railroad crossing and temporary highway crossing (Numbers 1 and 2
above) as soon as necessary approvals are processed and the crossing built.
Hopefully this would be completed before school starts this fall.
5. The permanent crossing onto Highway 10 would be built presumably in 1988.
6. To accomplish the above the City of Ramsey must agree to close the railroad
crossing at Puma Street and to build the road access and permanent crossing
onto Highway 10 (Number 3 above). These matters will be discussed at the
public hearing.
A map has been included showing the approximate locations of the railroad crossing
and highway accesses.
If you have any questions about any of the above matters please contact the people
indicated below.
0
IF FOR ANY REASON YOU CANNOT ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING_AND YOU UO SUPPORT THE ABOVE
SOLUTION, PLEASE SIGN ON THE SPACE PROVIDED BELOW AND141+I1`"Jlr'tR#:03:
Mike and Kitty Nasby, 8330 153rd Avenue - Phone #427-7826 or
Greg and Sue Smith, 15250 Iguana — Phone #427-6459.
I have read the above and 1 understand the terms of the proposal. 1 str& gly support
the above proposal and request .the Ramsey City Council to approve it at its meeting.
Name(s)
Ad res s
/.53ff' 7 f_r)r
c71j , 1%/2
,Pailrmaa am
