The book developed by the Environmental Policy Task
Force (EPTF), will include information regarding planting, growth and maintenance of over 240
trees and shrubs appropriate for use in Ramsey. These books are intended to be disseminated to
local residents, builders and developers.

The EPTF has invested an estimated 250 hours in drafting a Tree Preservation Ordinance, and 60
hours developing The Ramsey Tree Book.

On April l0th, 2003 the Park Commission heard a request to use Lawful Gambling Fund dollars
to pay the printing costs for the first 500 copies of The Tree Book. The Commission
recommended a not-to-exceed amount of $1,400 based upon an estimated cost of $1,200. This
expenditure is consistent with the intent of the Lawful Gambling Fund.

Approving the attached resolution will release the monies for the publication of The Tree Book
in time for the annual Environmental Expo scheduled for May 3, 2003.

-75-
