Councilmember Wise introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10-03-070 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE AN RFP FOR AN AGENT OF <br />RECORD FOR HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE AND COBRA <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is committed to providing a superior benefits package <br />to its employees; and <br />WHEREAS, well-designed and competitively priced benefits are essential to effectively <br />compete for and retain quality employees; and <br />WHEREAS, an agent of record is responsible for advising and assisting the City in <br />encouraging consumerism and designing health programs; advising and assisting the City in <br />controlling health care costs and evaluating plan design options; advising the City on potential <br />gaps or overlaps in coverage's, and negotiating with carriers on the City's behalf. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to issue an RFP for <br />agent/broker services for health and dental insurance and COBRA administration. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Look, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
