<br />Motion by Commissioner Backous, seconded by Commissioner Olsen to approve the following <br />Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes: <br /> <br />1) Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes dated March 11,2010. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Shryock, Commissioners Backous, Bennett, LaMere <br />and Olsen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />Consider Formal Dedication for the Ramsey Lions Contribution for Central <br />Park Pavilion and Schedule a Joint Meeting with City Council <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated the purpose of this case is to consider acknowledging the <br />Lions formally, and to discuss input on putting the Lions logo on the shelter in lieu of a plaque. <br />He is asking for a motion to approve up to $500 in lawful gambling funds and draft some <br />language to get into production such that a bronze plaque is available for the meeting on June <br />10th with City Council. <br /> <br />Chairperson Shryock wanted as part of this case to discuss the joint meeting with City Council <br />on June 10th at Central Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Backous, seconded by Commissioner Olsen for a joint meeting with <br />City Council on June 10th and approve up to $500 in Lawful Gambling Funds for a plaque for the <br />Lions at Central Park. <br /> <br />Motion Carried: Voting Yes: Chairperson Shryock, Commissioners Backous, Olsen, Bennett, <br />LaMere. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Acknowledge Mississippi River Trail Grant Award <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Park Supervisor Riverblood reported that the Metropolitan Council's Transportation Advisory <br />Board recommended funding this projected and therefore the money is secured for construction <br />year 2013. The Cities of Anoka and Ramsey may advance construct certain elements if they <br />desire and it is anticipate that Ramsey may consider doing that for the trail segment from Ramsey <br />Blvd through Mississippi West Park to the trail to the river. This could make it favorable to <br />secure federal funding in the future for a pedestrian overpass which makes for mass construction <br />of this trail fairly important. <br /> <br />Commissioner Backous asked if the restroom mentioned earlier was included in the Capital <br />Improvement Plan. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/May 13,2010 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
