<br />CASE # '1. 0.3 <br /> <br />CONSIDER ISSUING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR RAMSEY STAR EXPRESS <br />COMMUTER COACH SERVICE <br />By: Brian E. Olson, Director of Public Works / Principal City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This Spring the City Council authorized Staff to extend the Ramsey Star Express service by <br />exercising its 3rd (of 5) 6 month extensions with First Transit. In doing so, it directed Staff to <br />prepare a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the service into the future. During a work session on <br />June 1, 2010, Staff explained that there is a concern for issuing a Contract for such a short <br />timeframe between the new service starting and the potential of a train station starting in 2012. <br />Consensus of the Council was to move forward with the RFP to see what interest would be <br />generated. <br /> <br />Attached to the case is a copy ofthe RFP that was issued for the Forest Lake service converted to <br />meet the Ramsey Star Express specifications.
