<br />B; totaling $186,500. The revised proposal outlines a total change order for these improvements <br />in the amount of $207,921, with the $21,421 difference coming from increased material costs, <br />additional shipping charges, and the inclusion of connecting trail segments to the bridge. When <br />this project was originally bid the 2nd lowest bidder had a total cost for these improvements at <br />$260,962. As you can see from the W. Gohman proposal there is still a cost savings and benefit <br />to accepting this offer, as the only increase being requested is related to increased material costs <br />that the contractor will incur as a result of this delay in award. If we were to rebid these <br />improvements we would also incur an additional mobilization charge and potentially have an <br />incomplete park project when the existing contract is completed this fall. <br /> <br />Funding: <br /> <br />Consistent with the initial funding sources for this park, financing is proposed to be split 50 - 50 <br />between park dedication dollars and future COR land sales. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council amend the existing contract with W. Gohman <br />Construction by change order to construct lump sum alternates I, J, and L, and to cover the <br />increased costs associated with the required soil corrections on the site at a cost of $275,488.08. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve the change order with W.
