Councilmember Look introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10-04-096 <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY PROJECT #08-33, <br />THE BITUMINOUS PAVING OF UTE STREET NORTH OF 179TH LANE <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has authorized the solicitation of bids from plans <br />prepared by City staff; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 08-33, <br />The Bituminous Paving of Ute Street North of 179`h Lane ,bids were received, opened and <br />tabulated according to law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: <br />Contractor City Base Bid Alternate Bid <br />Rum River Contracting Co. Princeton, Mn $ 128,524.14. $ 138,700.01 <br />Omann Brothers Paving Inc. Albertville, Mn $ 126,727.62 $ 138,849.12 <br />North Valley Inc Nowthen, Mn $ 133,444.03 $ 144,808.13 <br />Douglas-Kerr Undergound Mora, Mn $ 134,071.87 $ 144,001.89 <br />Northwest Asphalt Inc. Shakopee, Mn $ 150,711.51 $ 161,240.76 <br />Dryden Excavating Anoka, Mn $ 153,885.50 $ 163,502.00 <br />WHEREAS, Rum River Contracting, Inc, is the lowest responsible bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Rum River Contracting for Improvement Project 08-33, the Bituminous <br />Paving of Ute Street North of 179`h Lane in the amount of $138,700.01, and <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Wise and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />RESOLUTION #10-04-096 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
