Councilmember Look introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10-OS-110 <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING PUBLIC WORKS WEEK <br />WHEREAS, public works services provided in our community are an integral part of our <br />citizens' everyday lives; and <br />WHEREAS, the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient <br />operation of public works systems and programs such as water, sewers, streets and highways, traffic <br />safety and water quality; and <br />WHEREAS, the quality and effectiveness of these facilities, as well as their planning, design, <br />and construction, is vitally dependent upon the efforts and skills of all public works professionals; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the week of May 16 through May 22, 2010 is hereby proclaimed as Public Works Week and <br />encourages all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the various aspects of public <br />works service delivery and to recognize the contributions made by public works professionals every day <br />to our health, safety, comfort, and quality of life. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Jeffrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />none <br />and the following abstained: ° <br />none <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />RESOLUTION #10-OS-110 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
