(3) Service bay identification signs. Service bay identification signs providing direction or instruction to persons using <br />the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind shall be subject to the following: <br />a. All service bay identification signs shall be wall signs. <br />b. There shall not be more than one service bay identification sign for each service bay located on the pazcel. <br />c. A service bay identification sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building adjacent to <br />a service bay entrance. <br />d. A service bay identification sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to which the sign <br />is to 68 affixed. <br />(4) Fue[pump island identification sign. Fuel pump island identification signs indicating the Type of service offered; the <br />price of gasoline; and other relevant information, within reason, pertaining to the facility; or direction to persons using <br />the facility shall be subject to the following: The gross surface azea of a service island identification sign shall be <br />counted against the maximum allowable sign area for the subject parcel <br />(5) Menu board. Menu board for drive-up orwalk-up lane of a drive-in business are allowed up to a maximum of 50 <br />squaze feet of total signage. Menu boards aze allowed a message on one side only and cannot contain an advertising <br />message. <br />(6) Directional signs. <br />a. Directional or instructional signs aze permitted in accordance with section 117-463(1). <br />b. Parking lot directional signs designating.parking area entrances and exits aze limited to one sign for each <br />entrance and/or exit and shall not exceed four square feet for each exposed face. Parking lot directional signs <br />shall not project higher than five feet in height, as measured from the established grade of the parking area to <br />which such signs are accessory. <br />c. Parking lot instmctional signs designating the conditions of use or identifying parking azeas shall not exceed <br />eight squaze feet and shall not project higher than ten feet in height for wall signs and seven feet in height for <br />ground signs, as measured from the established grade of the parking area to which such signs aze accessory. <br />d. Window signs are restricted to 30 percent of the area of the window in which the sign is to be displayed. <br />(b) Shopping center signs. In accordance with section 117-54, the developer shall submit a sign plan for approval, drawn to scale <br />with elevations, at the time application is made for site plan approval. The sign plan shall include but not be limited to the <br />following information: number of signs, type of signs, sign sizes, type of construction materials, sign messages, and proposed <br />sign locations. <br />(Code T978, § 9.72.08; Ord No. 94-02, 2-28-7994; Ord No. 0331, 9-IS-2003; Ord No. OS-07, § 2,1-T3-2008; Ord No. OS-25, § 2, 8-T2-2008) <br />SECTION 3 SUNIMARY <br />The following official summary of Ordinance # 10-_ has been approved by the City Council of the City <br />of Ramsey as cleazly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #10- to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 117 (Zoning and <br />Subdivision of Land) Article II (Zoning) Division 8 (Signs) to require a temporary sign permit for <br />temporary signs greater than fifteen (15) squaze feet in Business and Employment Districts and to allow <br />for a second permanent ground sign of 50% the size of the first permanent ground sign on parcels with <br />two road frontages. <br />SECTION 4 EFFECTIVE DATE <br />
