• Will residential structure heights be lower than what is allowed for other residential structures in
the township?
• What does "shoreline vegetation will be protected" mean for farmers?
• Is maintenance of rural densities, agriculture or open space meant to supersede existing or future
zoning regulations?
J. These districts include the urban cores of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Building heights will not
be limited in these districts. Where practical, opportunities to view or access the riverfront should be
providers
• Should add `standard building heights (according to city's zoning ordinance), stormwater
management and erosion control will apply.
General Questions:
Which regulations will apply to the MRCCA?
• MNRRA
• Shoreland Rules
• Floodplain Regulation
• Wild and Scenic Regulations (Federal designation)
• Others??
Which agencies will have review or approval authority for permits, development, and/or ordinance
amendments?
Typically for existing properties, the trigger to require compliance with new rules is at the time a permit is
requested. Would these rules be applied in the same manner?
How will parking lots be addressed? Will they Limited or will they be excluded from the structure setback
requirements?
Suggested rewording of District A:
This district is limited to specific publicly -owned park lands adjoining or readily visible from the river.
These areas generally have vegetation in a natural state, and -do -not or have landscaped areas to
accommodate public use. These areas may include urban riverfront parks with visually dominant
constructed features such as plazas, bandshells, picnic shelters, restrooms, visitor centers, boat
accesses, fishing piers, or parking areas. These lands will be subject to restrictive vegetative
management standards guidelines for the purpose of protecting shoreline, maintaining or restoring
natural vegetation, providing sustainable public access to the river, and vegetatively screening park
structures and facilities without compromising their public value. Generally, structures will be lower in
height than in other districts. ana__reettea om the river ••`lc s a at edge' cation is essentiak
111
