serving from 7 through 16 persons or a licensed day care facility serving from 13 through 16 persons shall be considered
a permitted multifamily residential use of property for purposed of zoning. [...] Nothing herein shall be construed to
exclude or prohibit residential or day care facilities from single family zones if otherwise permitted by a local zoning
regulation.
My question is to confirm that, as proposed, the City shall consider this a residential use under Minn. Stat. 245A which
states that a residential program means a program that provides 24-hour-a-day care, supervision, food, lodging,
rehabilitation, training, education, habilitation, or treatment outside a person's own home, including a program in an
intermediate care facility for four or more persons with developmental disabilities; and chemical dependency or chemical
abuse programs that are located in a hospital or nursing home and receive public funds for providing chemical abuse or
chemical dependency treatment services under chapter 2458. Residential programs include home and community -based
services for persons with disabilities that are provided in or outside a person's own home. I may not be quoting the
appropriate areas, so please provide any assistance you can.
Even with short term (30 day in -patient), shall the City consider this use residential per Minn. Statutes. I can gladly
answer any additional questions you may have. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Tim Gledhill
Associate Planner
City of Ramsey
7550 Sunwood Drive NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
teladhillCEci.ramsev.mn.us
(763) 576-4308 (direct)
(763) 427-5543 (fax)
3
43
