Absent: Chairperson Nixt <br />Case #5: Proposed Amendments to Heliports to Allow in the Town Center Sub - <br />Districts 1, 2, & 3; and Proposed Amendments to Conditional Use Standards <br />in the Appropriate Districts; Case of City of Ramsey <br />Community Development Director Miller presented the Staff Report.. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy stated some of the items he would like looked at that are in other cities <br />ordinances are: FAA notification and review of any site that would be proposed, the size and <br />layout of proposed heliport, the surface because impact of ground affect. Most ordinances he <br />looked at had some physical restraints such as fencing to block it off for safety, define approach, <br />noise considerations, timing, inspections, size and weight of the helicopters allowed. <br />Community Development Director Miller stated that Section 9.16.04 of the ordinance requires <br />the heliport to be licensed by the DOT Office of Aeronautics and they go through the FAA.
