Motion by Vice Chair Levine, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to recommend that the City <br />Council approve the site plan contingent upon compliance with the City Staff review Ietter dated <br />May28, 2009. <br />Motion Carried: Voting Yes: Vice Chair Levine, Commissioners Van Scoy, Cleveland, <br />Dunaway, Hunt, and Rogers. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt <br />Case #4: Public Hearing Continued — Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow the <br />Flying of Radio Controlled Aircraft; Case of Northwest Radio Control Club <br />Vice Chair Levine closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 8:08 pan. <br />in order to call the public hearing to order. <br />Public Hearing Continued <br />Vice Chair Levine called the continued public hearing to order at 8:08 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />Associate Planner Gladhill presented the SfafFReport <br />Citizen Input <br />There was none. <br />Motion by Vice Chair Levine, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland to continue the public <br />hearing to the July Planning Commission meeting. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Levine, Commissioners Cleveland, Dunaway, Hunt, <br />Rogers and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt <br />Case #5: Proposed Amendments to Heliports to Allow in the Town Center Sub - <br />Districts 1, 2, & 3; and Proposed Amendments to Conditional Use Standards <br />in the Appropriate Districts; Case of City of Ramsey <br />Community Development Director Miller presented the Staff Report.. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy stated some of the items he would like looked at that are in other cities <br />ordinances are: FAA notification and review of any site that would be proposed, the size and <br />layout of proposed heliport, the surface because impact of ground affect. Most ordinances he <br />looked at had some physical restraints such as fencing to block it off for safety, define approach, <br />noise considerations, timing, inspections, size and weight of the helicopters allowed. <br />Community Development Director Miller stated that Section 9.16.04 of the ordinance requires <br />the heliport to be licensed by the DOT Office of Aeronautics and they go through the FAA.
