the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind shall be subject to the following: <br />a. AlLservice bay identification signs shall be wall signs. <br />b. There shall not be more than one service bay identification sign for each service bay located on the parcel. <br />c. A service bay identification sign maybe located on the outermost wall of any principal building adjacent to <br />a service bay entrance. <br />d. A service bay identification sign shall not project higher than the pazapet line of the wall to which the sign <br />is to be affixed. <br />(4) Fgel pump island identification sign. Fuel pump island identification signs indicating the type of service offered; the <br />price of gasoline; and other relevant information, within reason, pertaining to the facility; or direction to persons using <br />the facility shall be subject to the following: The gross surface azea of a service island identification sign shall be <br />counted against the maximum allowable sign area for the subject parcel. <br />(5) Menu board. Menu board for drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in business are allowed up to a maximum of 50 <br />square feet of total signage. Menu boards are allowed a message on one side only and cannot contain an advertising <br />message. <br />(6) Directional signs. <br />a. Directional or instructional signs are permitted in accordance with section 117-463(1). <br />b. Parking lo[ directional signs designating parking area entrances and exits are limited to one sign for each <br />entrance and/or exit and shall no[ exceed four square feet for each exposed face. Parking lot directional signs <br />shall not project higher than five feet in height, as measured from the established grade of the parking azea to <br />which such signs are accessory. <br />c. Parking lot instructional signs designating the conditions of use or identifying parking azeas shall no[ exceed <br />eight square feet and shall no[ project higher than ten feet in height for wall signs and seven feet in height for <br />ground signs, as measured from the established grade of the parking azea [o which such signs are accessory. <br />d. Window signs are restricted to 30 percent of the area of the window in which the sign is to be displayed. <br />(b) Shopping center signs. In accordance with section 117-54, the developer shall submit a sign plan for approval, drawn to scale <br />with elevations, at the time application is made for site plan approval. No. 08-25, § 2, 8-12-2008) <br />SECTION 3 SUMMARY <br />The following official summary of Ordinance #10-11 has been approved by the City Council of the City <br />of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #10-11 to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 117 (Zoning and <br />Subdivision of Land) Article II (Zoning) Division 8 (Signs) to require a temporary sign permit for <br />temporary signs greater than fifteen (15) square feet in Business and Employment Districts and to allow <br />for a second permanent ground sign of 50% the size of the first permanent ground sign on parcels with <br />two road frontages. <br />
