In addition, County Parks <br />Staff has reiterated that they would not stand in the way of any sale to a third-party if the Property Owner <br />chose. <br /> <br />Should the Council choose not to enter into the MOD, the City would need to request a change to the <br />2006 Anoka County Parks Comprehensive Plan, subject to review of the Metropolitan Council. The City <br />is required under Minnesota Statute 473.859 to complete a Comprehensive Plan approved by the <br />Metropolitan Council. The City is not able to process changes in land use designations until the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan is adopted. Furthermore, failure to adopt a valid comprehensive plan could result in <br />disqualification from funding opportunities, including those that helped fund the Sunwood Drive, the <br />Parking Ramp, and the Amphitheater. <br /> <br />Staff has made some revisions per the discussion at that meeting. In addition, Staff would like to discuss <br />the City negotiating a life estate, funded by the County. County Parks staff has indicated this may not be <br />a viable option due to current budgetary constraints.
