Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to recommend that the
City Council purchase the replacement copier from Metro Sales in the amount of $11,008 and
authorize purchasing A/V equipment for the new conference room from EPA Audio Visual Inc.
in the amount of $12,812.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Look, Councilmembers Elvig and Wise. Voting No:
None.
Case #2: Consider Re-designating 2009 Matching Loan to the Ramsey Foundation for
COR Performances
Parks Supervisor Riverblood reviewed the staff report.
Councilmember Wise did not believe this was intended to be a loan.
Chairperson Look stated he was not opposed to the refunding concept. He believed this project
was done in an effort to bring the community together and he believed performances such as this
would also bring the community together. He stated he was not sure if the City should be
financing the Ramsey Foundation on an annual basis though.
Councilmember Elvig noted the lawful gambling dollars were there to create community and he
believed this fit the purpose of the COR, but it bothered him that the money was changing from
one hand to another.
Chairperson Look stated if the City did provide financial support for this, he wanted to make
sure the City was participating in the financing on this and it did not become a political event.
Councilmember Look expressed concern about having family performances only.
Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to recommend that the
City Council approve up to $5,000 with dollar for dollar match in Lawful Gambling Funds for
COR related performances, and authorize staff to work with the Foundation in the manner
described by this case.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Look, Councilmembers Elvig and Wise. Voting No:
None.
STAFF & COMMITTEE INPUT
None.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to close the regular
meeting of the Finance Committee.
Finance Committee /July 13, 2010
