Current Council directive has been to not
develop additional park properties but to concentrate on improving existing parks. This would
seem to support collection of a fee as opposed to dedication of property.
This was presented to the Park and Recreation Commission on August 12, 2010 and the action
was to recommend approval to the City Council. Staff would like the Council to review prior to
drafting and ordinance for adoption.
Options to consider regarding the he high density option:
• Should this solution be implemented Citywide or only in the COR where densities are
meant to be highest?
• Should the rates of other types of development or densities, such as single family
properties or commercial properties, be raised to compensate for the lost revenue of the
high density developments, or will the numbers shake out in the end?
• Should this just be an interim solution until the economy /housing market turns around?
Action Statement:
Direct Staff to prepare an ordinance altering the fee schedule to accommodate assisted living
facilities and higher density developments.
Reviewed by:
City Administrator
Director of Public orks
Attachments:
A.
