CITY OF
AN 0
R CLASSIC.
August 23, 2010
Tim Gladhill, Associate Planner
7550 Sunwood Dr NW
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303
Re: Comprehensive Plan Land Use Amendment; Low Density Residential to Medium
Density Residential
Comprehensive Plan Land Use Amendment; TOD to Institutional
Dear Mr. Gladhill:
The City of Anoka recently processed two separate applications that involved land use
amendments to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
The first amendment changes 36.97 acres from Low Density Residential to Medium Density
Residential. There is no pending development; however an overlay ordinance was created for
the entire site shown on the included site location map. Part of the overlay ordinance allows for
townhomes to be developed in the area of the map amendment.
The second amendment changes 5.4 acres just south of the Anoka County Rum River Human
Services campus from Transit Oriented Development to Institutional. Anoka County owns this
land and has a long term vision for continued institutional use. As such, the land use is proposed
to be changed to institutional.
As you may know, the Metropolitan Council requires review by adjacent communities for
amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. Enclosed is a form that we ask you to fill out and
return by fax or mail.
