Recommendation: The Planning Commission met on September 16, 2010 and held a public hearing regarding this request. There were no verbal or written comments submitted. The Planning Commission stated that they were pleased to see a comprehensive sign plan designed and brought forth to promote The COR. It was their recollection that this type of concept had been discussed during the development of the guidelines for the area. The Planning Commission did discuss the dimensions of the proposed signage and noted that it may make sense to allow for even a bit more height and square footage. Ultimately, they recommended that City Council approve the request to allow for up to 350 square feet per sign face (aggregate total of 700 square feet), which is 115 square feet more than initially requested by the applicant, and a maximum height of thirty -five (35) feet, which is five (5) feet more than initially requested by the applicant. The interim use permit has been drafted to reflect the additional area and height recommended by the Planning Commission, should City Council approve the request for a lesser height and /or area, the draft permit will need to be amended. Funding Source: All costs associated with processing the application are the responsibility of the applicant. Commission Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #10 -09 -_ adopting Findings of Fact #_ relating to. the City of Ramsey HRA's request for an interim use permit to deviate from sign restrictions established in City Code; -and- Motion to approve Resolution #10 -09 -_ approving the City of Ramsey HRA's request to deviate from sign restrictions on the property identified by PID # 28- 32 -25 -31 -0002 and declaring terms of same contingent upon approval by MnDOT for an off - premises sign. -or- Motion to deny the City of Ramsey HRA's request to deviate from sign restrictions as proposed, based on the Findings of Fact #_ Attachments: A.
