6. PUBLIC HEARING
6.01: Public Hearing on Improvement Project #10-25 Bituminous Paving of Chameleon
Street in the Shawn Acres Subdivision
Mayor Ramsey closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:04 p.m. in order to
conduct a public hearing.
Public Hearine
Mayor Ramsey called the public hearing to order at 7:04 p.m.
Presentation
Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report.
Citizen Inuut
Wendy Penna, 17310 Chameleon, asked how the assessment was being charged. She noted her
property had one PIN and not two PINS and therefore her property was not buildable. She
indicated they also had power lines on her property, which also made it unbuildable.
City Attorney Goodrich noted this was not the assessment hearing, but an improvement hearing.
He noted the assessment hearing would be held next spring at which time this concern could be
addressed.
Mayor Ramsey indicated Ms. Penna should contact Amber Miller regarding her concern.
Gary Dirks, 17531 Chameleon, asked how much longer did they have to play this game. Mayor
Ramsey stated according to the Charter, there was a petition and appeal process and it was the
neighborhood's choice.
Mr. Dirks requested the names of the residents who were and were not in favor of this. Assistant
City Engineer Jankowski responded he would get Mr. Dirks that information as it was public
information.
Councilmember Dehen noted if this was petitioned against and if there were a certain amount of
people that were against it, those people could shut down the project and there was nothing the
Council could do
Tom, 17330 Chameleon, stated he was in favor of splitting the lots to 20 instead of 21.
Motion by Councilmember Wise, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to close the public
heazing.
City Council /August 24, 2010
