CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Work Session on Monday, August 9, 2010, in the Lake <br />Itasca Room in the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig -arrived 6:30 p.m. <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeffrey Wise <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Deputy City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:55 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Consider Termination of Lease Option to Utilize South 10 Acres of Bury and <br />Carlson Site <br />Director of Public Works Olson stated that when the City purchased the Bury and Carlson site <br />for use as a future Public Works facility, we purchased it with a lease agreement with the <br />aggregate business for almost three years. At the end of the first three-year period, the City <br />could control a maximum of 10 acres of the land and take over the taxes for that portion. Mr. <br />Olson talked about the Public Works facility being the target for complaints because of outside <br />storage, unpaved lots, and unimproved surfaces. At this point, there is no plan in place to <br />formally move to the southern 10 acres of the Bury and Carlson site, but taking control of the <br />area will allow us to move some of the outside storage to clean up the Public Works facility.
