Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #10-08-173 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING 1sT PARTIAL PAYMENT TO RUM RIVER CONTRACTING INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 08-33 (UTE STREET IMPROVEMENTS) WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council adopted a resolution on May 12; 2009 accepting plans and specifications and authorizing the solicitation of bids; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 08-33, The Bituminous Paving of Ute Street North of 179`h Lane ,bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, on Apri127`h, 2010 the City Council authorized entering into a contract with Rum River Contracting Inc. to perform the work. WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer, Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends partial payment to Rum River Contracting, -Inc. in the amount of $21,539.87. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Rum River Contracting Inc. for the IP 08-33 Rum River Contracting in the amount of $21,539.87. 2) That the City Council hereby accepts the pay request and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3) That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of August 2010. 4) That the :City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution.
