Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION# AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/MARKETING MANAGER WHEREAS, the City's former Economic Development Coordinator resigned in March 2010; and WHEREAS, on August 9, 2010 the City Council authorized staff to reclassify the Economic Development Coordinator position to Economic Development / Marketing Manager and begin the recruitment process to fill the position; and WHEREAS, a recruitment process was conducted and Mr. Aaron Backman has been selected as the best candidate for the position; and WHEREAS, Mr. Backman has successfully completed the required pre- employment checks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Hire Mr. Aaron Backman as the City's new Economic Development/Marketing Manager, effective on or near November 1, 2010 at an hourly wage of $34.78 and give credit for 5 days of vacation time. All personnel polices will apply normally. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof- and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 12 day of October 2010.
