Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10- 10 -XXX <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING 2ND PARTIAL PAYMENT TO OMANN BROTHERS <br />FOR TRAIL PAVING PROJECT #10 -23 EAST MEANDERING COMMONS PARK <br />WHEREAS, on January 26, 2010 the Ramsey City Council authorized the solicitation of <br />bids from plans prepared by URS Corporation, Close Landscape Architecture, and City staff; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 10 -23, East <br />Meandering Commons Park, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on <br />March 26, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, a portion of the bituminous trails (listed as alternates A, B, C, and D) from the <br />advertised bids for Improvement Project 10 -23, East Meandering Commons Park, were rejected <br />on April 13, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey distributed plans to paving contractors to quote on these <br />rejected bituminous trail alternates, and such quotes were opened on June 18, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council awarded a contract to complete certain bituminous trails within <br />East Meandering Commons Park on June 22, 2010 to Omann Brothers Paving, Inc. in the amount <br />of $48,950. <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer, Brian Olson has inspected the <br />completed work and recommends partial payment to Omann Brothers in the amount of $29,754. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Omann Brothers Paving, Inc. <br />for the bituminous paving of trails in the amount of $29,754. <br />2) That the City Council hereby accepts the pay request and authorizes the Mayor or City <br />Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. <br />3) That the total amount of this payment is included in resolutions approving payment of <br />bills for the date of October 2010. <br />4) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this <br />resolution. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />RESOLUTION #10- 10 -WC <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
