CASE #

CONVEY EASEMENTS TO CITY OF ANOKA FOR
ANOKA ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSION
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator

Background:

The City entered into an agreement with the City of Anoka in 1996, allowing for an electrical utility
transmission line through portions of the City of Ramsey. The City of Ramsey also agreed to sell
certain easements to the City of Anoka for the transmission line. City of Anoka acquired certain
easements from private property owners-as well. The entire line extends from Alpine Drive, on the
west side of Alpine Park, straight south to the BNSF railroad tracks and then easterly to 'the Anoka
City border (map of'easement attached). Pursuant to the 1996 agreement, the easements are all 80-
fbot wide and are tbr etectrical transmission line purposes only.

City staff recently completed work on the deed language for the easements which now require
Council authorization to convey the easements to the City of Anoka. Once the easements are
completed, the City will request payment from the City of Anoka for the easement rights.

Council Action:

Motion to authorize easement agreements for Anoka Electrical Utility.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Attorney
City Engineer

CC: 05/23/02

-135-
