Memo <br />DATE: <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />RE: <br />October 28, 2010 <br />Ramsey Planning Commission <br />Community Development Staff <br />Staff Update <br />CASE # -7 <br />City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in October that may be of <br />interest to the Planning Commission: <br />Minor Plat for RAMSEY TOWN CENTER 12m ADDITION and Site Plan for Ramsey Medical Building. <br />The City Council approved the plat and site plan related to the Ramsey Medical Building/VA Clinic. <br />Request for Home Occupation Permit to Operate a Lawn Care and Landscape Service at 14200 Tungsten <br />St NW. The City Council postponed action on this home occupation to direct staff to draft findings in the <br />negative to deny the home occupation permit. <br />Request for Preliminary Plat Review of Alpha Development, Site Plan Review of Legacy Christian <br />Academy, Zoning Amendment, and Comprehensive Plan Amendment. The City Council approved the <br />preliminary plat and associated land use application for the Legacy Christian Academy. <br />Consider Supporting Response from the City of Saint Paul and Current Issues in Regards to the <br />Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) Rules. The City Council provided clarification as to <br />interpretation of current language in the City's MRCCA ordinance as it relates to the impacted geographic . <br />areas. City Staff is attempting to clarify which overlays apply to certain areas and avoid overlapping <br />regulations. In addition, the City Council adopted an ordinance in support of a joint statement from the <br />City of Saint Paul. A copy of the Joint Statement is attached for your reference. <br />Update on MRCCA Rulemaking. City Staff continues to participate and respond to draft MRCCA <br />rules from the DNR. It appears the DNR has willingness to incorporate some of the City's comments into <br />the draft rules and draft land use districts. Revised land use districts proposed by the DNR related to the <br />rules update can be found at <br />httn://files.dnr.state.mn.us/waters/waternwmt section/critical area/davton ramsev oct 2010.pdf. <br />Update on the Comprehensive Plan.
