Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10 -10 -226 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR <br />PARTICIPATION IN THE DWI TASK FORCE GRANT WITH THE MINNESOTA <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE BLAINE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Police Department has in previous years participated in the <br />DWI Task Force, receiving grant money for DWI enforcement. In order to do this, the City of <br />Ramsey has entered into contractual agreements with the State of Minnesota to receive grant <br />money; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Police Department will participate in the DWI Task Force <br />from the period of October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2013. This grant is being <br />administered by the City of Blaine and the Blaine Police Department, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Blaine will receive $20,000 of the $200,000 grant for acting as <br />the fiscal agent and the administrator of the grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is requiring a resolution from Council authorizing <br />the execution of an agreement with the Department of Public Safety for the participation in DWI <br />task Force Grant to commence October 12, 2010 through September 30, 2013. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey Police Department enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota <br />Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety and the City of Blaine for the <br />project entitled DWI Task Force during the period from October 1, 2010 through <br />September 30, 2013. <br />2) That the Ramsey Chief of Police is hereby authorized to execute such agreements and <br />amendments as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the Ramsey Police <br />department in cooperation with the Blaine Police Department. <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Resolution #10 -10 -226 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
