Consent # 5, 11 <br />REPORT FROM PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Human Resources Representative <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Personnel Committee met Tuesday, October 26, 2010. <br />CITIZEN INPUT: <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA: <br />Motion to approve the agenda as submitted. <br />Case 1: Consider a Resolution Authorizing the Hire of an Accountant I <br />Background: <br />On August 24, 2010 the City Council adopted a resolution authorizing staff to restructure the <br />Finance Department and to begin a recruitment process for an Accountant I. A recruitment process <br />was conducted and the City received 96 applications, of which 7 were interviewed. The interview <br />panel was made up of the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant, and the Human Resources <br />Representative. Ms. Cindy Nelson was selected for the Accountant I position. All pre-employment <br />checks have been completed satisfactorily. <br />Personnel Committee Recommendation: <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt resolution # 10 -11 -XXX to hire Ms. Cindy <br />Nelson for the Accountant I position with a start date on or near November 29, 2010 at a step 1 of <br />the wage scale which is $20.78 per hour. <br />City Council Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Personnel Committee. <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br />There was none. <br />Reviewed s <br />City Administrator: <br />CC: 11/09/10 <br />
