-290- <br /> <br />Council Update Report Policies - May 14, 2002 <br /> <br />COUNCIL REPRESENTATION IN PUBLIC FORUM <br /> <br />Councilmembers who represent the entire Council in public forums, including the Council <br />Update Report on CaNe Television, shall represent the actions of the entire Council rather than <br />their personal perspective. Councilmembers may provide their opinion when it is clearly stated <br />that it is their personal perspective and that it may, or may not, represent the opinion of the other <br />Councilmembers. Councilmembers are to refrain from comments or statements that draw into <br />question other Councilmembers votes or motives and shall accord the utmost courtesy toward <br />other Councilmembers when spealdng for the entire City Council. <br /> <br />COUNCIL UPDATE REPRESENTATION SCHEDULE <br /> <br />It is the cun'ent policy of the City Council that Council Update report on Cable television have <br />one report from the Mayor and one report from a Councilmember each month. The Council <br />representative report each month is scheduled on a "round-robin" basis, where each <br />Councilmember serves as a representative before the next rotation begins. <br /> <br />Beginning in January 2003, when the seven-member Council is seated, the rotation schedule will <br />include all members of the City Council including the Mayor. The Mayor will take his or her <br />time in the rotation every seventh Council meeting rather than once a month.
