Sergeant Way replied that the Police Department hopes to get the word out as soon as possible to give snowmobilers as much advance warning as possible. Councilmember Anderson stated that there are some residents north of 159th Avenue whose driveways are being torn up by snowmobiles and inquired if it would be possible to use the fines as a source of revenue to assist in repairing those driveways. Majority consensus of the Council was no. Consensus of the Council was to forward the proposed snowmobile ordinance change to the Council including the changes recommended by the Council. Councilrnember Hendriksen inquired if changing the ordinance would require a public hearing. City Administrator Norman replied yes. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the Council would be conducting the public hearing. City Administrator Norman replied that it could be scheduled that way. 2) Councilmember Wards City Administrator Norman presented two ward options, which were established by utilizing census tracks. Mayor Gamec inquired if the Council favored one option over another. Consensus of the Council was to proceed with Option 2. City Administrator Non'nan stated that he would place the item on the Council agenda for action. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if it was not possible to follow 153~d Avenue in Ward #3. City Administrator Norman noted that that segment was built after the-census tracks were established in 1998. Councihnember Hendriksen inquired if it would be possible to follow 153ra Avenue over as far as Armstrong Boulevard or would that impact the residential counts too significantly.
