Stop the moratorium

Letter of explanation for stopping the Hwy 10 moratorium

NO V 0 5

Copies to:
Highway I0 property owners, city council members, City of Ramsey, Minnesota

Department of Transportation . .. · . . .

Highway 10 property owners Wake up or get robbed in our Option '
To begin with I wish to state our displeasure with not being notified of the
October meeting regarding a moratorium on highway 10 which includes our, property.- -
Ramsey is well aware of our home address as we have numerous letters of
correspondence from them with the correct address. Our notice was sent to California to'
the party that holds our contract for deed. .

A moratorium will affect our income and our property greatly andI can surmise
why we were not notified as we have fought, at great expense, for our grandfathers rights
with the city administrators before.

We accidentally learned of the October meeting from our neighbor after the
meeting was over with.

Moratorium - Ramsey city hall wants it.-

They.say they want it to allow them time to plot the highway in cooperation with
MnDot. Guess what, MnDot does not require a moratorium. Guess what, MnDot does
not Think a moratorium is necessary, Guess what, The Anoka county attorneys office
states that if Ramsey wants the property on'the north side of highway 10 then they should
buy it. The Anoka county attorneys office thinks Ramsey should pfirchase the property
for fair market value plus just compensation. Guess what. MnDot does not know if they
are going to purchase the properties on highway 10. If they do not then the city of .
Ramsey has to. Does this mean that the city of Ramsey has a'hidden agenda? Will the
properties v~',.~e go up immensely when the North Star commuter rail arrives and the
town center is completed and is the city of Ramsey trying to depress the property values
with a moratorium?

2002

-157-
