I I I I I ,I PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Members Absent: Mayor Thomas Gamec Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO ORDER Councilmember Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:45 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Ratify Hiring of Human Resource Manager Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that at the regular meeting of September 11, 2002, the City Council authorized the City Administrator to hire either of the top two candidates to fill the vacancy of Human Resources Manager. Following the Council authorization staff commenced background checks and reached an agreement regarding terms and a starting date with the number one candidate, Lori Kingston. Ms. Kingston's start date was September 23, 2002. On September 24, 2002, Ms. Kingston submitted her resignation. After receiving Ms. Kingston's resignation, staff contacted Mr. Pat Leadens and offered him the position of Human Resources Manager. Mr. Leadens has accepted the position and will begin working September 25, 2002, pending Council approval. -' Personnel Committee/September 24, 2002 Page 1 of 2 -33-
