Staff will be preparing a feasibility
study providing maintenance options for dirt streets. No action was required.

Council Action:

None required

Case #2

Update to the 155th Lane NW Storm Sewer Project

Background:

As a consequence of the dewatering discharge into the wetland drained by the 155th Lane
storm sewer, it has become apparent that certain low areas adjacent to this wetland are
not encumbered with drainage and utility easements. This includes areas which would be
inundated by the i00-year storm event. Staff has suggested that the 864 contour, which
is the elevation of the 100-year flood, be surveyed and that legal description be prepared
for the areas between this high-water elevation and the actual wetland. The areas and
costs associated with obtaining these easements would then be brought back to the
Council for further consideration.

Council Action:

Motion to ratify the Public Works Committee's recommendation to authorize Saff to hire
Hakanson Anderson for an amount not to exceed $2,000 to survey the 864 contour and
provide legal description for easements between the wetland and the 864 contour.

Case # 3 Request for Maintenance of Private Street

Background:

The Rum River Townhouse,Association requested that the City assume the maintenance
of the private street providing access to their development. Staff reviewed a number
reasons why it would not be advisable for the City to start this precedent: The Committee
recommends that the private street continue to be maintained by the Rim River
Homeowners Association.

Council Action:

Motion to ratify the Committee's recommendation.

-169-
