Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Megan Wald, Associate Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2002 Home Improvement Show <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey has participated in the NOrth Suburban Home Improvement Show <br />for the past 4 years. The North'Suburban Home Improvement Show in April of 2002 was <br />a great success. Approximately 650+ residents attended the event. <br /> <br />In 2002, each City donated $500 dollars to cover the start up fees, which include booth <br />rental, newspaper ads, sign rental, supplies, Armory rental, flyers, handouts, and so forth. <br />After all of the expenses were paid each City received a refund of $492.98 dollars for a <br />total contribution of $7.02. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Staff members from the cities of Dayton, Champlin, Ando.ver, Anoka, and Coon RapidS <br />are meeting once again to host the fifth annual Home Improvement Show on Saturday; <br />March 22, 2003. <br /> <br />The money being requested from each City for the 2003 event is once again $500 dollars. <br />Again this money will cover start up fees. Each City will be refunded the necessary <br />amount after all of the bills have been paid. <br /> <br />It is anticipated that the March 2003 show will produce enough income to enable each <br />city to be refunded' almost the entire $500.00 dollars after all the applicable bills have <br />been paid. <br /> <br />Request: <br /> <br />The Home Improvement Show Committee is asking each City Council to approve $500 <br />dollars of seed money for the 2003 North Suburban Home Improvement Show. <br /> <br />-87- <br /> <br /> <br />
