CASE <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A HOME OCCUPATION PEi~IIT; <br />CASE OF PAMELA BOSHEA <br /> By: Megan Wald, Associate Planner <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City received an application from Pamela Boshea for a home occupation permit to establish <br />a one-chair hair salon in her home located at 6210 179th Lane NW. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />c) <br />d) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Business Proposal <br />Draft Planning Commission meeting minutes dated November 7, 2002 <br />Proposed Findings of Fact <br />Proposed Home Occupation Permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State statute, Staff notified property owners within 350 feet of the subject <br />property of the public hearing. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Pamela Boshea is proposing to establish a one-chair hair salon in her home. City Code restricts <br />home occupations to 20% of the gross floor area of the home. The room in which the home <br />occupation will take place is 120 square feet (10 X t2), which equates to 5% (120 / 2,308) of the <br />gross floor area. Pamela will be the sole employee and she expects to service a maximum of 3-4 <br />clients per day (20 clients per week). She would like to operate Monday - Friday 10:00am - <br />3:00pm. <br /> <br />Several similar home occupation permits have been issued by the City in the past. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the home occupation request on <br />November 7, 2002. There was no citizen input during the public hearing, <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of the Home Occupation Permit for Pamela <br />Boshea. <br /> <br />-113- <br /> <br /> <br />
