I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

want to develop it. We are the people living on our property. We don't want to develop our
property.. I don't want a dead end road that will be there for people to see. I don't want people
to get the wrong idea and think that this dead end road will .eventually go throu~mh, because I
won't let that happen. That land would be so better used by putting in some trees with wood
chips around it. So, please take that section of the road out of the plans. Taking it out will affect
no one, but us.

Since I have started writing this letter, I have talked to the developer. I understand now'that this
is a city road. I also understand that it is the City of. Ramsey that .wants this' entire triangle of
property to be developed into town homes. We feel like the city is forcing us out I also
understand that these town homes are going to be part of an association with a community area.
What is a city. road doing in a project like this? If I were a homeowner in a town home
development like this, I wouldn't want a city road going into our development.

I heard from the developer that the city of Rarnseyis refusing permission to have 16 town 'homes
in one building. I agree. That is putting too many people in our area and it is also putting
buildings that are too different from what is around us. That sounds like an apartment building
to me.

In addition to all of these changes, are you aware that Sunfish Lake BNd. is going to be repaved
this summer and it is getting made 4 feet narrower than it was (each shoulder is going to be made
2 feet narrower)? I have mixed feelings about it becoming narrower. I get so tired of people
passing on the shoulders. With a narrower road, they won't be able to pass on the shoulder
anymore. However, there are a lot of bikers, joggers and walkers that use that shoulder. The
speed limit is 55 m.p.h. I am afraid that someone will be hurt or killed. There is a fitness facility
(Health Quest) on Stmfish Lake Blvd. A lot of members jog up and down our road. County
Road 116 is already too narrow for joggers or bikers. You are proposing a development that will
place another 150 homes and you are giving them access to Sunfish Lake Boulevard, a curvy,
hiEy road that has limited visibility, a 55 m.p.h, speed limit and low lying areas. A heavy fog
often settles in these low-lying areas making this a fairly dangerous road. New crossroads are
being created to exacerbate the problems. I can't begin to tell you the dozens of close calls I
have had driving on this road because of people turning out onto Sunfish Lake Blvd. There are a
lot of blind spots where these roads have gone in. A situation is being created where people will
be killed. Now, the county is making the road narrower and the city of Ramsey plans on
accepting a proposal that will put possibly 300' more cars on th/s road during rush hour
(ass~ng 2 drivers per expensive town home, that will probably require both people to work).
Remember that these people are not seniors and they are not yet retired. So, there could still be
adult children at home. So, 300 ears is probably a conservative number.., think about what you
are doing here. Perhaps enforcing the seniors only policy would help to eliminate some potential
traffic problems. We were originally told that these town homes were being developed for
seniors. According to the developer, this is not the case. These town homes are now being
marketed for whomever can afford them.

I would like you to put yourselves in our shoes and try to think how you would feet if a. road'
went ~ that ended at your fence line. I am afraid that if the town home owners see this road that
ends at our fence, that they will get the idea into their heads that they want a road going through

-133-
